Trade with Ed from Roll out the Barrel

Arriving home from work a few weeks ago the postman had kindly left a package by the front door. He is well aware of the contents of these little packages arriving from the US and doesn't attempt to squeeze them through the letter box. I eagerly opened the said package from Harland Wisconsin while I awaited the arrival of a member of my family who had a key. I surveyed the contents with great satisfaction and had almost worked my way through the backs of the entire collection when up strolled my son, who didn't bat an eye at the fact that I was very early and let me in. That was the last that I saw of the package from Wisconsin until two days ago.
Where had it been? Somehow it had grown legs and walked its way into a pile of papers where it promptly buried itself hoping for peace and quiet. While filing important papers (in the rubbish bin) I stumbled across the missing package. A short heart felt reunion took place, a few tears, some reminiscing and now its time to thank Ed from Roll out the Barrel for the excellent selection of Red Sox, including superb Dice-K cards.
Sorry for the delay in posting (and thanking). Red Sox cards are always a welcome addition to this household.

Trade with Ed from Roll out the Barrel

The postal workers of the United Kingdom were 'on strike' for two days this week, so I was surprised to receive not one, but two packages from the US. These arrived like book-ends on either side of the strike while very little else did. Amazingly however credit card applications and bills managed to be delivered as well. These along with coackroaches, it is rumoured, will survive a nuclear attack.
Another interesting fact that has emerged during all this -is that it takes between three and four weeks to clear two days of back logged post.
Firstly the package from Ed at Roll Out the Barrel and what a beauty it was. A game used bat, two Jacobys and my first taste of Goodwins Champions. The Goodwins have received mixed reviews around the blogs. Comments such as: dubious quality, multiplication in packs, Evil Lincoln, Topps did it better in A+G and so on. I liked them and the Jacoby mini is superb although a little spooky...
Here is the rest the package from Hartland Wisconsin;

$5 Group break

Here is the premise, as mastermined by Thorzul -A $5 group break.
He asked people to share in his opening of a staggering 82 packs and 400 loose cards. Golly.
Pick a team and the cards would be yours. I was quick to choose because I know that there are many Red Sox collectors.

What did I get for my $5?

Firstly, a 14 card Topps 2007 Red Sox set plus

1989 Upper Deck #413 Jim Rice
2000 Upper Deck Vintage #103 Red Sox
